Experience the French connection in the Yarra Valley

Les Chesselles at Mont De Lancey

Hidden in the undulating hills of Wandin, Victoria is one of the first homesteads, Mont De Lancey, settled by the Sebire family. Along with the Rougets and Gaudions, the Sebires were one of the original French settlers in the Yarra Valley.

Now a new French connection has arrived at Mont De Lancey in the form of a unique French style café... 'Les CHESSELLES'.

Not only will you enjoy French food but also French wines and cheeses, as well of course alongside the best of the Yarra Valley. As part of the experience, Gourmet produce, giftware and toiletries are available.

Les Chesselles - an interesting history

Les Chesselles at Mont De Lancey

In 1491 a land owner from Switzerland sold a parcel of land just inside the French border to a man called Chesselles where the village of Chesselles had its beginning. Over the next four hundred years the descendants moved throughout Europe and up into England where over time the name was anglicised to become Chessell. This was the maiden name of the owner Christine.
